Condition / Notes: This is the scarce first edition of this work. The antique volume is bound in the publisher's blindstamped cloth covers with stamped gilt lettering on the spine. There is light rubbing and chipping concentrated at the edges, gutters, and corners. The binding is sound. The pages show mild age toning and moderate scattered foxing/smudging, mostly in the margins. The work contains full-page engraved illustrations for each state discussed. "Kansas" is misspelled "Kanzas."
The book is protected by a clear mylar dust jacket.
