Description: Painted in famille rose enamels and silver leaf with the arms of Blackwell, baronets of Sprowston in Norfolk, with scattered floral sprays and sprigs. Diameter 9 7/8 inches. Literature: A jardiniere from this service is illustrated in Sir Algernon Tudor-Craig, "Armorial Porcelain of the Eighteenth Century," p. 78; a dish is discussed and illustrated in David Sanctuary Howard, "Chinese Armorial Porcelain," vol. I, p. 404, O4, where the author notes "This service is possibly composed of pieces added to the tea service of about 1760. A tea caddy from this earlier service is illustrated in Howard, ibid., p. 564, Q7.
