Description: CHRISTIAN-BERNHARD RODE
Conradin Holding the Head of His Decapitated Friend.

Etching, 1781. 495x365 mm; 19 1/2x14 inches, small margins. A very good impression of this large, scarce etching.

Rode was director of the Berlin Academy of the Arts from 1783 until his death in 1797. He was a talented painter of history scenes as well as one of the top printmakers in Prussia during the reign of Frederick the Great. LeBlanc 165.
