This ‘Dolly’ was lovingly restored with a focus on originality. It is in top condition and has the original certificate of conformity from the general agency R. Smoliner, Vienna. The windshield wiper is driven by the speedometer – it works well if you drive fast…
The revolutionary 2CV was first represented at the Paris Motor Show in 1948 and was constructed as a lightweight design. With its roll up roof, the removable tube frame seats, the amply opening doors and the trap windows the ‘Döschewoh’ was quite popular amongst tradesperson and farmers. Due to the composite suspension curves can be driven with any velocity and the air cooled boxer with front wheel drive proved that it is indestructible.
Today the 2CV-AZ, nick-named ‘Flying Dustbin’ or ‘Dolly’, counts among the absolute classics. The car was available in Germany as of the late 1950s, buyers had to accept long waiting periods. The car was so successful that the French mail, various road service companies and even the British Royal Navy included it into their car pools. The parts supply is still possible.
