Description: CLEVELAND NON-EXPLOSIVE LAMP CO. NO. 32 KEROSENE SINGLE-ARM STUDENT LAMP, opaque white umbrella-form shade with yellow ground and polychrome floral decoration, brass finish, adjustable on central shaft which terminates to a ring, vertical cylinder-form reservoir, circular weighted foot. Fitted with a period Argand burner, shade ring impressed "CLEVELAND SAFETY LIBRARY LAMP HOUSE ARGAND PATD NOV. 18TH 1871", colorless chimney.
Dimensions: 19 1/2" HOA, 10" WOA. Shade 5 3/4" H, 7" D fitter.
Medium: Circa 1871.
Condition Report: Very good overall condition, expected wear to finish and some scattered light denting, underside of foot with moderate rust, shade fitter with a small "V" chip and minute wear to decoration. Burner undamaged, shade ring with repairs and possible alterations to base, chimney with roughness to each rim and a long shallow chip to fitter.
