Description: first edition , first issue, with 'Vol. I' on title, Henry Nelson Coleridge's copy , name on title, ink note at foot of p. 1, a few pencil marks and brief notes elsewhere, little marking., bookplate and cutting from bookseller's catalogue on paste-down, original cloth-backed boards, defective paper label on spine, rubbed & marked, cloth case, 8vo, Leeds, 1833. Henry Nelson Coleridge (1798-1843) cousin and brother-in-law of Hartley, having married his sister Sara in 1829. 'I remember no sonnets, so nearly resembling the unaccountable and peculiae sweetness of Shakespeare's sonnets, as this & the two next. H N C'.
