Description: Colonial Notes Printed by B. Franklin
Choice June 1, 1759 Benjamin Franklin Issue Five Shillings
Delaware. June 1, 1759. Five Shillings. Benjamin Franklin "Printed by B. Franklin" Issue. "Sea Serpents" vignette. Very Fine.
Fr. DE-65. The June 1, 1759 Five Shillings denomination is rarely encountered, specially in this far above average Very Fine quality. This Benjamin Franklin printed note has clean and attractive overall eye appeal. One of the finest examples of this scarce denomination to become available to collectors as "Sea Serpents" are an unusual vignette type, and these are particularly pleasing and clearly detailed. Overall conservation present, specially to the centerfold outer edges, signatures faded, the text and designs readable and clear. Rare.
