More About this Item

Description: New York Currency Elusive April 21, 1760 New York Two Pounds Note Colony of New York. April 21, 1760. Two Pounds. Fine. Fr. NY-158. French & Indian War Period. We are not able locate any recent pricing records for the Two Pounds April 21, 1760 note other than for one example Stack's sold in About Uncirculated condition of the Ten Pound denomination in the John J. Ford, Jr. - Boyd Auction Sale of May 2004 for $5,750 and one other we have offered. Only 10,000 notes were authorized to be printed. This is an extremely rare note which is certainly missing in most all Colonial Currency and specialized New York paper money collections. There is repair and some restoration the the centerfold area and signatures and conservation of some sealed splits. This example appears well printed having superior eye appeal and all three signatures remaining clear and strong. This issue is completely unpriced in Newman in any grade due to its rarity.
