Elusive November 15, 1775 Issue South Carolina Rarity With "PRO LIBERTATE" (For Freedom) Motto
South Carolina. November 15, 1775. Two Pounds Ten Shillings. "Crossed Swords" vignette. "PRO LIBERTATE" (For Freedom) motto. Backed. Appearance of Very Fine.
Fr. SC-111. A scarce South Carolina note. Its Revolutionary War text reads, in part: "... by order of the Provincial Congress." This note is whole and complete, with dark black printed text is on evenly worn laid paper. The blank reverse has been completely backed. There is deft conservation sealing of the centerfold and several edge splits. A denomination lacking in most South Carolina paper money and Colonial Currency collections.
