Description: This is a rare colonial large wrought iron tasting ladle spoon from New England, circa 1700s. The wrought iron tasting spoon was handmade by a blacksmith with exceptional form and detail. There is a ruffle or scalloped design that is centered with three berries. Small scribes begin and finish the design elements. There is a makers mark that is stamped on the where the handle meets the wide spoon bowl. There is a fine detailed rat tail end for hanging by the open hearth.
Condition Report: Excellent condition with age appropriate patina.
