More About this Item

Description: 1926 LENINGRAD. 1 Share of 100 Rbls. Serie 2. green, black. No 39312. Following the October Revolution, Lenin nationalised all banks and replaced them by one single state bank: the People's Bank of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. It soon turned out that this was not a success. Hence, a number of state-owned banks were created, both nationwide and regional/in one city. The Communal Bank of Leningrad is one such a bank. We know of only one other piece, hence rarity 11.
