David Finn (b. 1952)
The American artist David Finn became known in the 1980s for his ‘Newspaper Children’, figures the size of children made of newspapers and other waste with painted masks. After moving from New York to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he is living and teaching at Wake Forest University sculpture since, he increasingly extended his material vocabulary. Thus a versatile sculptural body of work originated up to today using various materials such as ceramics, steel, wood, stone or plastic and wax. (fea)
