Description: Deutschland - Berlin und Potsdam - - Michiels, Johann Franz. Das Zeughaus (Hauptportal), 1856. Original-Photographie. Vintage. Salzpapier-Abzug. Montiert. Köln, verlegt durch F.C. Eisen, 1856. Bildgröße 40 x 26 cm. Blattgröße 63 x 44,5 cm.
Vgl. Auslöser Potsdam, S. 11 und 28 (zu Michiels und seinen Potsdam-Bildern) - Heidtmann, Wie das Photo..., S. 55 - Rarissimum der frühen Berlin-Photographie. Michiels ist vor allem für seine Aufnahmen des Kölner Doms bekannt, von seinen - hervorragenden - Berlin- und Potsdam-Photographien (von Letzteren bieten wir hier ebenfalls einen seltenen Abzug an), tauchten bisher nur ganz wenige auf. Vier seiner Potsdam-Motive wurden 2006 im Rahmen der Ausstellung "Auslöser Potsdam" gezeigt, weitere seiner photographischen Arbeiten aus Berlin und Potsdam kennt man nur aus dem Inserat, das der Verleger Eisen 1858 in der Leipziger "Illustrirten Zeitung" schaltete und in dem dieses Motiv hier aufgeführt wird. Demnach scheint es das einzige Bild des Zeughauses zu sein, dass Michiels machte. Abgesehen von der Seltenheit ist das große Format und der ausgezeichnete Erhaltungszustand des hier angebotenen Abzugs bemerkenswert. - Auf dem Träger Blindstempel des Verlegers. - Träger etwas gebräunt und angestaubt, mit kleinen Randläsuren, der Abzug in den Rändern etwas blass, sonst sehr gut erhalten.
