Book Details: An informative book about these two southwestern New Jersey counties, which were in colonial days part of West New Jersey and largely Quaker in population. These parts of the state figured in the American Revolution, and the history of most towns described include a Revolutionary War participation.
Condition / Notes: This antique volume has leather boards with stamped-gilt lettering and ornamentation. The binding is split in several places, and much of the spine cover is lacking. The text block is adorned with gilt edges. The bookplate of the I. G. Schorsch library is affixed to the front pastedown. The pages show mild age toning and scattered light foxing, smudging, and offsetting. The work is profusely illustrated with tissue-guarded engraved portraits as well as views and two maps, one of which is in color.
