Condition / Notes: This is a scarce limited first edition, being copy number 171 out of 300. The antique volume is bound in brown paper-covered boards with cloth backstrip, with gilt pictorial design on the front cover and leather spine label with gilt lettering. Light bumping and rubbing are present to the exterior. The binding is cracked at the front hinge. A previous owner's bookplate and gift inscription appear on the front endpaper. The title page of this volume is printed in red and black. A few tiny pencil markings appear in the margins, but the interior is otherwise clean and bright. This work is richly illustrated with a tissue-guarded frontispiece and tissue-guarded plates, each with captions on the tissue guard. This work contains an index.
