oil on canvas, signed, dated "1855" and inscribed "SNY SLA" lower center.
27 x 35 3/4 inches

Provenance: A Connecticut Estate.

Other Notes: A letter and appraisal dated November 5, 1974 from Vose Galleries, Boston, Massachusetts, accompany the Lot, indicating that the subject is taken directly from a painting by Thomas Birch.
