Rose (Roland de Covarrubias), Mexico. Silver print, the image measuring 8 7/8x6 3/4 inches (22.5x17.1 cm.), the trimmed mount 12 1/2x12 3/8 inches (31.8x31.4 cm.), with the Negative by Edward Weston hand stamp with Cole Weston's signature, in pencil, on mount recto; the original Edward Weston Portfolio label with the print number and edition notation 33/50, in ink, attached to a separate backing board. 1926; printed 1971
Roland was both an amateur photographer and dancer, and was married to cartoonist and archaeologist Miguel Covarrubias.
