Description: 11 July 1868 ALEXANDRIE. 7% General Bond of £20=Fr.500. green, black. No 544777. Large format, with folds. Text in English and French. The loan was marketed by the Imperial Ottoman Bank, the Société Générale (Paris) and the Oppenheim bankers (Alexandria, Paris). The loan amount was £11,800,000 or 297,250,000 Frs. This must be one ofthe oldest Egyptian foreign bonds we have ever seen.
