Jentsch 54 - Raabe/Hannich-B. 264.53 - Schlawe 16 - Söhn II, 26917 - Rifkind 573, 601, 672 u. 2087 - Söhn, Felixmüller, 88 b u. 147 c. - "Menschen" war die Zeitschrift der "Expressionistischen Arbeitsgemeinschaft Dresden", welche sich im Oktober 1917 mit einem gemeinsamen Programm assoziierte. Zu dieser Zeit gründete Felix Stiemer, der als Angestellter der Buchhandlung Bender sowohl mit Conrad Felixmüller als auch mit Rudolf Adrian Dietrich in Kontakt kam, einen eigenen Verlag, in dem u.a. der erste Jahrgang des Periodikums erschien. - Der Abdruck des Liebknecht-Porträts auf der Titelseite und die beistehenden Kommentare beziehen sich auf den am Erscheinungstag des Heftes verübten Mord an Karl Liebknecht und Rosa Luxemburg. Felixmüller hatte das Porträt bereits 1916 im Auftrag Franz Pfemferts geschnitten, jedoch zuvor nicht publiziert. - Mittelfalte, sonst tadelloses Exemplar des sehr seltenen Heftes.
