Description: Writing paper (50 % detached) of the "6850th Internal Security Detachment - International Military Tribunal - Nurnberg, Germany APO 124-A, U.S. Army" with according letter head and ISD emblem. Below it personal ink signature and date "Leeb Feldmarschall 21.VI.46". At lower left rim inventory no. "JKL 87-29". Wilhelm von Leeb (1876 - 1956) was appointed field marshal after the French Campaign on July 19th, 1940 during which he overwhelmed the Maginot Line with his Army Group C. In the proceedings against the OKW (German Supreme Command) he was accidentally sentenced to three years imprisonment due to a mix-up of documents. There was no annulment of the sentence as Leeb's time as a POW accounted for that. Collection John K. Lattimer.
