Description: Fokker D-VIII, 695/18: a fine scratch-built flying scale model of the last of the Fokker 1914 -1918 war fighter aircraft, of strut-braced parasol construction, the wood airframe covered with fine fabric and panelling and finished in the lozenge camouflage of the period with "Balken"-cross national markings, cockpit detail includes pilots seat, control column, throttle and other items including windscreen and rear-view mirror, the model twin Spandau machine guns set to fire over the aluminium engine cowling concealing a model Goebel Goe III rotary engine with two blade wood propeller, the starboard fuselage side with rack of flare cartridges, on strut-braced main undercarriage, the wheels with rubber tyres, the tail with skid, 208 cm wingspan. The D-VIII was supplied, in 1918 to the Jagdstaffeln in small numbers and operated together with the D-VII over the Western Front.
