Prima edizione in-12° della migliore storia delle finanze francese (Mc Culloch, 346), impressa lo stesso anno della princeps in-4° (Basel, Fratelli Cramer). Grazie a questo trattato Forbonnais si affermò come riconosciuto economista, divenendo, l'anno successivo alla pubblicazione delle Recherches, consigliere del Ministro delle Finanze, ruolo che gli permise di realizzare riforme di impronta neocolbertista. Forbonnais fu l'esponente principale del gruppo degli economisti francesi teorici del commercio, nonchè autore di diverse voci di economia sull'Encyclopédie. La presente opera, che illustra anno dopo anno lo stato delle finanze francesi sotto Sully, Mazzarin, Colbert e i loro successori, sino a John Law, esprime anche l'atteggiamento polemico alla fisiocrazia dell'economista. A very fine copy. Nineteenth-century half-leather, marbled paper on the covers, gilt-tooled titles and number of volumes on black morocco littering pieces, marbled edges. First edition in 12° format of the best story of french finances (McCulloch, 346), printed in the same year of the princeps in 4° format (Basel, Cramer). Due to this writing Forbonnais estabilished himself as a recognized economist, becoming, the year after the publication of the Recherches, adviser of the Minister of Finance, role that allows him to made neocolbertist reforms. Forbonnais was the main member of the group of french economists of theorical trade, and also author of several economic writings on the Encyclopédie. This work, which illustrates year after year the state of French finance under Sully, Mazzarin, Colbert and their successors, until John Law, who also expresses the polemical attitude to physiocracy economist.
