Description: FRANCE Louis XIV (1644-1715). Médaille en or 1679, frappée pour célébrer le traité de Nimègue par Le Ferme. Av. Buste drapé à droite. Rv. « SECVRITAS GALLIARVM » La sécurité de la Gaule. 118,27 grs. Ø 50 mm. Le traité de Nimègue, signé le 10 août 1678, entre la France et les Provinces-Unies, met fin à la guerre de Hollande, qui eut lieu de 1672 à 1678 entre la France et ses alliés, l’Angleterre, Münster, Liège, la Suède et la Bavière, face à la Quadruple-Alliance composée des Provinces-Unies, du Saint-Empire, du Brandebourg et de l’Espagne. Par la signature de ce traité la France doit restituer la plupart de ses conquêtes, mais elle acquiert la Franche-Comté.
