Description: FRANK HAZELL (1883-1957) WEST POINT / NEW YORK CENTRAL LINES. 1927.
40 1/2x26 3/4 inches, 103x68 cm. Latham Litho & Ptg. Co., Long Island City.
Condition A-: repaired tears in right margin into image; replaced losses and light staining in margins.
An autumn view of the sandstone buildings of America's premier military academy, seen as if from the windows of a passing train cruising along the east bank of the Hudson River. The view is from Garrison's Landing, a place that played a crucial role in the American Revolution as the spot where Benedict Arnold, escaping from West Point to provide traitorous information to the British, landed his ferry. Zega p. 75.
