Lot 1014: FRED. BRDLIK MEAT PACKING CO., LTD
29 October 2016
Brussels, BelgiumLive Auction
Description: 22 July 1914 LONDON. Warrant for 100 Preferred Ordinary Shares of £1. multicolour. No 5308. Folds and a few small edge-splits. A most attractive and colourful share, especially compared to the average British share! An attractive girl, prettily dressed, carries a tray of hams, etc., and a cow, sheep and pig sit in the border of stylised flowers andleaves. Underprint of the (Bohemian) lion. Exactly the same certificate appears on the reverse, but in Czech! The certificate was printed in Prague. The dividend coupons are also printed in English on the English face, and in Czech of the Czech face. We presume that Mr Brdlik was a Czech. Austria-Hungary and English tax-stamps. Only once before seen by us and, we dare say this might well be the most decorative of all British shares we've ever seen. Rarity 11.
