Description: FRANCE, EARLY 19TH CENTURY A fine French 950 silver crystal mounted sugar spooner by Paris silversmith Louis Manaut. The spooner sits on four claw feet rising into a chamfered base with floral border in relief. The crystal body stands on four classically styled dolphin legs adorned with figural swan handles. The crystal body is surmounted by a silver lid with wreath finial. The spooner is paired with twelve Charles Folliot, Paris 950 silver spoons with scalloped floral handles. The amount of detail throughout the spooner and twelve spoons is remarkable. The spooner bears numerous hallmarks including (3) Louis Manaut marks. All twelve spoons are hallmarked three times. Truly a fine example of French craftsmanship.
Condition Report: One of the spoon rest arms is broken off and missing, otherwise very minor wear to plate.
