Description: The complete book comprising 17 aquatints printed in colors, 1938, 17 aquatints printed in black and 82 wood-engravings en-texte by George Aubert, each aquatint in black signed in ink by Rouault, signed again on the justification page, numbered 23 (from the total edition of 250 plus 30 hors commerce), on japon impérial, printed by Lacourière, published by Ambroise Vollard, bound (as issued)
Bound in original cover and case with the title in gilt lettering on the spine, in matching slipcase. The prints in good condition, with original interleaving sheets, each with corresponding title in pencil. The outer case with some wear, and the slipcase (possibly) re-glued, with significant wear.
