Description: GERMANY, LATE 17TH CENTURY A fine German Baroque royal portrait painting of German Princess Henriette Casimira (1696-1738). The youngest daughter of Henry Casimir II of Nassau-Dietz (1657-1696) and Princess Henriette Amalia of Anhalt-Dessau (1666-1726) she is shown matured and sensualized, wrapped in diaphanous drapery seated on a chair. The work was finely executed and is an exceptional example of Baroque period portraiture. The work is signed faintly around the upper left border in red and translates to the following: "Princes Henriette Casimira born 10/2 July, 1696". The painting is housed in an oval frame with carved and gesso details.
Condition Report: Overall very good condition, restored at one time, the frame is as-is with cracking but very stable.
Dimensions: Oval canvas on board painting measures 24" by 20", framed 30" by 26".
