Description: HITCHCOCK LAMP CO. MECHANICAL KEROSENE STAND LAMPS, LOT OF TWO, urn-forms with removable fonts, comprising of a brass example with underside of base with winding mechanism in working condition, impressed patent date of "PATD FEB 26 1868". Fitted with an appropriate Hitchcock-type burner, thumbwheel embossed with a star; and a nickel-plated example, underside of base with mechanical mechanism but lacking winding butterfly handles, impressed "PATENTED JULY 20TH 1886", period Hitchcock burner.
Dimensions: 10 1/2" H to top of collar, 5 1/2" D foot.
Medium: Circa 1880.
Condition Report: Brass example with a dent to font holder, otherwise undamaged. Nickel-plated example with minor wear to finish. Nickel-plated burner deflector with light denting, brass burner undamaged.
