Description: A HuangHuaLi Chinese picnic box of three tiers, comprising a cover and a shallow upper tray, held on a base frame with two side posts flanked by scrolling spandrels and joined at the top with a humpbacked handle, the covers with corner ruyi-head and plain brass mounts, all edges with brass reinforcements and with threading pin. The wood show lustrous golden-brown patina, smooth surface. The HuangHuaLi wood displays a translucent shimmering surface with abstractly figured patterns appearing like ghost faces motif.
