India / Pakistan / Afghanistan, Hindu Shahi (Shahiya) Dynasties, ca. 4th to 7th century CE. Incredible sculpture in cream/off-white colored marble depicting Vishnu standing with legs slightly apart, nude from the waist up, holding a chakra in one hand, conch-shell trumpet in the other, his head flanked by avatars of a lion and boar, ornate crown upon his head and radiate crown behind. An incredibly fine and beautiful example! Custom base. Size: 22" H (55.9 cm)
