Description: Importante maquette de la compagnie Nordeuscher Lloyd Bremen du S/S «KAISER WILHELM II», 95 x 290 x 59 cm. (hauteur stand. 88 cm.). Le Kaiser Wilhelm II, est un paquebot transatlantique allemand à vapeur, achevé au printemps 1903. Il fut l’un des plus rapides transatlantiques de son époque et obtint le Ruban bleu en 1904. Il effectuait des traversées entre l’Allemagne et les Etats-Unis. Il sera réquisitionné à New-York lors de leur entrée en guerre en 1917. L’U.S. Navy donnera au navire le titre d’USS Kaiser Wilhelm II (ID-3004) fin août 1917. Il sera renommé Agamemnon. Mis hors service au milieu des années 1920, il portera le nom de Monticello en 1927 mais ne reprendra plus de service actif. Le Monticello étant considéré comme trop vieux pour être utilisé pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le navire sera vendu et détruit en 1940.
