I have attempted little more than a personal narrative, endeavoring to select from my abundant notes such scenes and incidents of adventure as seemed to me . . . not merely the history of our voyage, but a general view of the Arctic regions.
Condition / Notes: This is the scarce first edition of this work. The antique volume is bound in the publisher's green pebbled cloth covers with stamped gilt lettering/ornamentation on the spine and a stamped gilt wolf device on the front cover. There is light shelf wear to the exterior, concentrated at the edges. The rear hinge is cracked. The frontispiece portrait depicts the author. There is a ship vignette on the title page. The pages show mild age toning and occasional light marginal spotting. The work is profusely illustrated with plates and color maps.
