Condition / Notes: This antique volume is bound in green cloth, with gilt ruling and pictorial design to the front cover, and faded gilt lettering and decoration to the spine. The volume displays external wear, with rubbing to the covers, light bumping to the corners and spine extremities, and a crack at the bottom front spine edge, which has been repaired with glue. The binding is cracked at the hinges, and the text block displays toning at the outer edge. A previous owner's signature is present to the front flyleaf. Significant foxing is present to the first few and last few pages of the interior of this volume, but the text remains largely clean and bright, with only occasional spots of foxing or smudging. This work is well-illustrated, with head pieces, illustrated initials, plates, and one color map. A 24-page publisher's catalogue is present at the rear.
