Limehouse.

Etching printed in dark, brownish black on cream laid paper, 1859. 126x200 mm; 5x7 7/8 inches, full margins. MacDonald's fourth or fifth state (of 6), with the drypoint lines on the clouds in the sky between and above the tall masts. A superb, richly-inked impression, with all of the fine lines distinct and with warm plate tone. Kennedy 40; Glasgow 48.
