Description: Japanese suit of armor (Tosei Gusoku) Edo period, russet iron helmet with gilt, blue lacing and forecrest fixture; iron face mask with red-lacquered upper lip and bristling moustache, four-tier bib with blue lacing; gilt cuirass laced in blue; conforming tasset skirt, thigh protector and leg guards; mesh and gilt decorated sleeve and shoulder guards with Mon; with armor box (gusoku bitsu); on later display stand; H63" W16", and box H23 1/4" W18" D18"
