Description: JAPAN, CIRCA 1930 A fine Japanese World War II Shin Gunto mounted Katana. The blade is a fine example of a pre war oil tempered blade with an active Hamon. The blade is matched with war time mounts. The tang is signed and bears an arsenal mark.
Condition Report: Blade was stored with thick oil and has been preserved beautifully, then felt with the fingernail about 6" from end you can feel the slightest area of imperfection, so minor!. All furniture in good overall condition, a very well preserved sword.
Provenance: A very fine and well preserved sword!
Dimensions: blade overall measures 34 7/8" long, sharpened area measures 26 15/16", together measures 40 1/4" long.
