A Very fine example of Ming Dynasty Chinese gilt Bronze figure of Shakyamuni Buddha, delicately cast seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with the hands resting on his lap, with thumbs touched index finger, forming circle. Clad in a diaphanous sanghati with plain hems, the face with serene expression centered by a raised urna, the ushnisha topped with a knops. One end of the garment is resting on his left arm but the other end is not shown on his left shoulder. Wearing ornate necklace and armband. The figure shows extensive trace of gilt. The underside with incised Quadre-foil flori-form petals visvavajra mark surrounded the centralized DaiJi.
Mark on lower reverse side, protruding six script -KaiShu- character enclosed within receded rectangular frame, JiaJing Reign Period of Great Ming.
