Description: Bronze, welded and patinated in green Klaus Ihlenfeld (b. 1934) – German-born sculptor, living in the United States Dimensions: 36.8 x 9 x 8.5 cm Provenance: Private collection, Germany Delicately crafted sculpture which vegetal-looking forms are typical of the artist's work Condition: The bronze sculpture is in overall very good condition. Klaus Ihenfeld (b. 1934) Klaus Ihlenfeld studied from 1950 to 1956 at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in his native city of Berlin. His teacher was the German sculptor Hans Uhlmann. 1957 Ihlenfeld traveled for the first time to the United States, where he worked with the sculptor Harry Bertoia and also created own metal sculptures. In 1958 he returned to Germany. Since 1960 Ihlenfeld lives and works in the US, today in Barto, Pennsylvania. Klaus Ihlenfeld is known for his forged and welded sculptures of bronze, iron, brass or steel, which display mostly vegetal forms.
