Description: This is a large early English Stafforshire c. 1810-20 blue feather edge Leeds style earthenware platter by James & Ralph Clews. It has hand painted blue around the scalloped edge frequently referred to as feather edge. It is a deep dark blue. The edge has a raised embossed design. Base has imprinted makers mark of a crown encircled by Clews Warranted Staffordshire. 3 Stilt marks to front and nick to rim. Measures 15 1/2"x13"x1 1/2". Weight 3 pds 11 oz. PROVENANCE: The Private Estate of a Atlanta, Georgia Antiques Dealer.
