Description: Larry Hilburn (Texas, New Mexico, Missouri, born 1924) Oil on board. Signed lower left. Sight size: 10 x 8 inches. Hilburn was trained at Beaux Arts, Univ. of Paris; Ecole DuLouvre-Paris; Museum D'Art Moderne-Paris; and Jue Du Paume-Paris. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Southwestern State and a Masters Degree from West Texas University. After training in Paris and exhibiting in New York, Larry found residence in Amarillo, Texas and eventually Taos, where he continued to show works in New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas and Texas. He was a member of American Artists in Paris, the Taos Artists Association, the Texas Watercolor Society and the Texas Fine Arts Association. He obtained a Fulbright Art Scholarship, Paris and was in Who's Who in American Universities. Hilburn was a part of many exhibitions and special exhibitions. These include: the Houston Museum of Art-Houston, the Arkansas Art Center-Little Rock, Fulbright Artists National-New York, Kappa Pi National-San Antonio, Texas Watercolor Society-Traveling Exhibit, 40 Best-Texas Fine Art-Amarillo and Galerie Huit-Paris.
