Sei parti in 3 volumi in-4° (mm 310x200). Pagine xx, 252, 77, [3]; xiv, 293, [3]; xvi, 352; xvi, 331, [1]; xvii, [1], 291, [1], 114, manca l'ultima carta probabilmente bianca; XVI, 242, 50, [2]. Vignetta calcografica al frontespizio di ogni tomo, altre illustrazioni incise su rame in apertura di alcuni dei profili biografici dei vari imperatori, iniziali e fregi incisi su legno. Lieve brunitura delle carte, qualche arrossatura. Legatura coeva in pelle, titoli in oro su tassello ai dorsi a 5 nervi, tagli spruzzati in rosso. Abrasioni agli angoli dei piatti, rotture ai dorsi lungo le cerniere, qualche menda ai dorsi, carte di guardia allentate. Al contropiatto anteriore (tomi I-II e III-IV) e posteriore (tomi IV-V) ex libris di Edward Howard, al frontespizio del tomo I etichetta con illustrazione xilografica e data manoscritta '1798 1797', al frontespizio del tomo III segni di asportazione di ex libris o nota di apartenenza, timbro illeggibile al frontespizio del tomo V. Seconda edizione di questa monumentale opera dello storico Louis-Sébastien Le Nain de Tillemont dedicata alle vicende dell'Impero romano e della Chiesa nei primi secoli della Cristianità. Pubblicata per la prima volta tra il 1690 e il 1697 limitatamente ai primi quattro volumi, l'Histoire vide gli ultimi due uscire postumi solo nel corso del XVIII secolo, rispettivamente nel 1701 e nel 1738. Esiste anche una diversa impressione, parigina, con la dicitura Seconde edition. Six parts in 3 volumes. 4° (310x200 mm). xx, 252, 77, [3]; xiv, 293, [3] xvi, 352; xvi, 331, [1]; xvii, [1], 114 pages, wanting the last leaf probably blank; XVI, 242, 50, [2] pages. Engraved vignette on the title page of each volume, other copper engraved illustrations on the begenning of some bibliographical profiles of the various emperors, woodcut decorated initials and tools. Light browning on some leaves, some foxing. Contemporary leather, gilt title on littering piece on the spine, spine with 5 raised bands, red sprinkled edges. Abrased the corners of the covers, damages to the spine and the hings, some losses on the spines, looses flyleaves. On the front pastedown (volume I-II and III-IV) and past (volume IV-V) ex libris of Edward Howard, on title page of volume I label with woodcut illustration and inked note '1798 1797', on title page of volume III signs of removal of ex libris or ownership's inscription, unreadable stamp on title page of volume V. Second edition of this monumental work of the historian Louis-Sébastien Le Nain de Tillemont dedicated to the vicissitudes of the Roman Empire and the Church in the early centuries of Christianity. Published for the first time in 1690 and 1697 limited to four volumes, l'Histoire saw the last two came out only during the XVIII century, respectively in 1701 and 1738. There is also a second printing, parisian, with the note Seconde edition.
