Description: GOVERNOR WRITES IN WAKE OF THE WHISKY REBELLION LEE, HENRY ("LIGHT-HORSE HARRY"). Letter Signed, "Henry Lee," as Governor, to General Anthony Walton White, ordering him to deliver a list of prisoners comfortably and securely to Philadelphia. Additionally with a four-line Autograph Postscript: "Two erasures made since writing the letter as the two men have been bailed by the judge." 1 page, folio; short closed separations at folds repaired verso with paper, remnants of prior mounting along right edge verso, minor toning at all edges. (MRS) "Headquarters" Pittsburgh, 25 November 1794

Notes: "You will take under your care the state prisoners committed by the honourable Judge [Richard] Peters, viz., [19 names are listed, two of which have been struck through] and deliver them to the proper officer in the city of Philadelphia. . . .
". . . When you shall have passed the Susquehannah, you may direct Major Dunham to proceed with the escort and prisoners to Philadelphia . . . and proceed yourself on the nearest route home."
