Description: LEWIS FOREMAN DAY (1845-1910) FOR HOWELL, JAMES & CO., LONDON
EBONISED BIRCH AND PORCELAIN MANTLE CLOCK, CIRCA 1880
the painted porcelain dial with maker's mark HOWELL JAMES & CO/ THE QUEEN/ LONDON, the eight day movement striking on a gong, all enclosed within a carved ebonised case raised on turned legs united by a galleried undertier
overall 23cm wide, 56cm high

Condition Report: Clock in original condition, of fine appearance
Repaired break to upper fret gallery on LH side, two on the front, one on the rear and one on the LH facing side with a chip to the arched moulding
Dial in good order with very minor rubbing to maker's inscription
Minor chips to the key aperture rims
Firing blemish to upper rim, hidden by door
Door and glass in good order
Crack to moulding on LH facing side
Minor age split to inside of back door and grazing to rear RH facing angle
Minor scuffs and marks here and there
