Lot 106: Lisa Marie Presley's Diamond and Turquoise Bracelet by Stephen Webster from Nicolas Cage
29 October 2016
Memphis, TN, USALive Auction
Many traits are passed through the generations, and in this instance, perhaps the love of turquoise jewelry is one. Elvis adored the magically colored stone and it's evident that his daughter Lisa Marie does as well judging by this ravishing bracelet gifted to Lisa Marie by Nicolas Cage. It was designed by Stephen Webster, the famous British luxury jewelry designer whose creative and cutting-edge designs are well known. From his Crystal Haze collection, this 18-karat yellow gold, diamond, turquoise and quartz bracelet contains 90 diamonds, each weighing 0.02 carat with a total weight of approximately 1.80 carats. The diamonds are F-color with VVS2 clarity and the bracelet weights 78.8 grams. The bracelet is stamped inside with English hallmarks and "Webster 750." It is common knowledge that Stephen Webster believes that jewelry is truly exquisite when it is beautifully crafted, and this bracelet is a prime example of that philosophy. The offered bracelet was appraised in 2010 for $19,500 and with provenance from this celebrity couple, the current value is incomparable, however with charity in mind it is being offered at a below-market value and extremely competitive price. The bracelet is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation
The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation and Graceland Auctions
The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation (EPCF), a 501(c)3 organization, was formed by Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. in 1984 to continue Elvis’ own tradition of generosity and community service, and to honor his memory. All of the EPCF’s funds are used for charitable donations — nothing is deducted for staffing or other operating costs. The foundation has assisted numerous charities over the years and has a longstanding relationship with the College of Communications and Fine Arts at the University of Memphis where the Elvis Presley Endowed Scholarship Fund was created. Also, dear to Elvis’ heart, the foundation has supported outstanding Memphis-based charitable organizations, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the National Civil Rights Museum.
The foundation receives a portion of its overall income of Graceland/Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. A meaningful amount of the EPCF’s funding also comes from donations made by Elvis fan clubs and individual Elvis fans and admirers from around the world.
Graceland Auctions is eager to contribute to this legacy of giving and will now provide a forum for fans and collectors to contribute a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their artifacts to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation.
Like her father, Lisa Marie Presley believes strongly in this spirit of giving, and the foundation is close to her heart. She will launch this Graceland Auctions initiative by donating a portion of the proceeds from the four pieces of her personal jewelry to the foundation.
