(12), 183, (28), (6), 174, (18) pp. W. large engr. ti.-vign. & engr. plate representing Alexandra pointing at the destruction of Troy. Fol. Cont. cf. w. raised bands, richly dec. gilt back and "I. Phelipps. Y." in gilt lettering on front side. (Bind. a bit chafed/warped, corners bumped, joints split at the top, but in very good interior condition). Comprising Scaliger's translation of the Alexandra in Latin, the annotations by W. Canter and the commentary by J. Meursius. Printed in the extremely fine Greek Sheldon type. - Dibdin II, 209; Brunet III, 1248; Hoffmann II, 65. - The binding is of Rev. John Phelipps.
