Description: Marie DORVAL 1798-1849 Réunion de trois lettres autographes à Alfred de Vigny, dont deux signées [Paris], [22 mai 1833 (?)], 6 mai 1840, [16 mai 1845]. Ens. 15 p. in-12 et in-8 (dimensions diverses). Réunion de trois lettres autographes de l'actrice Marie Dorval à Alfred de Vigny. Celle qui incarna véritablement le drame romantique sous la monarchie de Juillet et qui, en 1835, interpréta de manière sublime Kitty Bell dans Chatterton, rencontra Vigny en 1830. Leurs amours d'abord platoniques évoluèrent en une liaison passionnée, tumultueuse et relativement éphémère qui prit fin en 1838, une dizaine d'années avant la mort édifiante de celle qui "était du petit nombre des femmes de théâtre qui possèdent au moins des qualités du cœur" (Théodore Muret). La première lettre est une manifestation éclatante de cette nature exaltée : "Je cherche, je veux trouver je ne sais quelle blessure, quel mal qui vous aille au cœur pour vous rendre le tourment de cette soirée - être obligée de rentrer, de vous laisser partir sans vengeance, être obligée d'attendre !! Vous êtes un homme affreux et le plus froid des hommes et le plus méchant, et aussi le plus maladroit, et vous ne savez rien cacher, vous n'avez pas pu me cacher tout le plaisir que vous aviez à rester la soirée entière près de cette femme. […] Un jour je vous dirai que c'est de cette soirée que vous m'avez perdue" ( [22 mai 1833 (?)] ; Vigny a noté en tête : "Pauvre Marie jalouse de madame Sand"). [On joint :] Alfred de VIGNY. 1797-1863. Brouillon d'une lettre à Marie Dorval en notes codées. [Paris, fin 1833 (?)]. 2 p. in-8. Ce brouillon serait celui d'une lettre de jalousie de Vigny à Marie Dorval qui se serait laissée séduire par Alexandre Dumas. On joint en outre une belle lettre autographe de Marie Dorval à Pauline Duchambge (?) ("Cherche, trouve, embrasse l'auteur de Stello de cet embrassement qui traverse les lieux, les rues, la foule - dont une maîtresse n'est pas jalouse. […] Dis-lui que je l'aime encore mieux qu'après avoir lu Cinq Mars. Kitty Bell ! portrait d'ange impérissable, comme un Raphaël. Je suis pénétrée dans les os de cette lecture inattendue - car je n'ai le goût ni la force de lire - ni le temps - coudre et souffrir, c'est tout mon sort. ". Vers 1832 (?) ; une page et demie in-8 - cette lettre fut étonnamment attribuée par Ernest Dupuy à Marceline Desbordes-Valmore), deux manuscrits de poèmes dédiés à Marie Dorval par Louis Méry et Émile Péhant (26 septembre et 9 novembre 1836 ; ens. 2 p. in-8), un manuscrit sur Marie Dorval signé "A. Guépin" (vers 1833-1834 (?); 7 p. in-folio) et un ensemble de coupures de presse sur l'actrice (1833-1834). Quelques déchirures et pliures marginales, certains atteignant le texte.
