Description: A collection of Maya stone celts from the New River area of Belize, ca. 250 - 600 AD. These are fine examples of a type knows as 'Tears of the Gods' and were placed on field altars as votive offerings to agricultural deities. This group of four celts ranges from 2 in to 2-7/8 in in length, including a light green example. Nice set of different forms. Ex Pecou estate.
