Description: Medizin - Ophthalmologie - - Greiner Vetter, Anton. Musterkasten mit gut 100 farbigen Glasaugen für unterschiedliche Tierarten. Im originalen Holzkasten. Lauscha, um 1920. Ca. 31 x 34 cm (Deckel lose, Seitenteile deutlich gelockert, Kasten bestoßen). Seltene Kuriosität, zugleich Dokument klassischer alter Glasbläsertechniken für die Herstellung lebensechter Tierfiguren als Spielzeug und für Lehrzwecke. Die Firma gehörte zu den bekanntesten auf ihrem Gebiet und hatte sich das von ihr erfundene, besonders intensiv leuchtende "Funkelauge" 1930 urheberrechtlich schützen lassen. Die hier angebotenen Glasaugen, wohl meist für Vögel, wurden den Figuren eingesetzt, um das lebensechte Abbild zu komplettieren. Die Größe der Augen hier reicht von 5 mm bis 25 mm Durchmesser. Neben Tieraugen stellte die Firma auch menschliche Glasaugen her. Sie war damit einer der führenden Produzenten dieser 1835 in Lauscha erfundenen Spezialität. - Beigegeben: 5 kleinere Werbeschriften der Firma zu ihren Produkten, um 1930. - Augen gut erhalten.
