Description: Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero / Mezcala ca. 500 BCE. Early stone maskette carved from dense mottled gray/brown stone. Almost Olmecoid facial features with downturned mouth, high nose and distinct cheeks. Drilled in 1 area for suspension. Size: 5" H (12.7 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Paul Simon collection, Taos, NM acquired between 1960 and 1975.
